Proverbs 4:23 tells us to “Keep thy heart with all diligence: for out of it are the issues of life”.
Now we may ask what exactly does that mean, well in looking up the word ISSUE, I found that the first definition in the Webster is a final conclusion, or a decision about something after consideration of it, in other words a final outcome!
So why is it that we take our heart, where those decisions come from, for granted? Why do we choose to decieve ourselves? Why do we choose to be in bad situations and yet tell ourselves it will get better? Why? Because we have stopped guarding the very organ that is our life line, the organ that pumps blood and oxygen throughout our bodies. The very muscle that if it ever ceases to pump life will elude us!
And spiritually the very thing that God looks at (our heart) when men are looking at your outward appearance. Guard your heart with all that you have, it is the only way that you can be assured that from it will come your best decisions, your unregrettable choices, and your fullest potential.
Please know that if you do not care for your own heart, who will, or who has to. So at this moment, take the stance to guard your heart, and that act of self love will cause others to follow suit.
I love you with the love of God, and I pray that you take inventory and start to be pro active in what you allow to flow in and out of your heart, remember there are the issues (decisions, conclusions, matters) that will play a significant role in the life you live!!!
Please add your comments, A Kept Heart would love to hear what you have to say.
